Planning for Halloween doesn’t have to be scary! Whether it’s family-friendly events or a scary haunted house, we have all the information for the area’s events, parties, haunted houses, shows, hay rides, and of course, where to go for all the best candy! Here is a complete list of all the Texoma Halloween activities! Multiple Dates Smith’s Gardentown Pumpkin Patch Smith’s Gardentown 4940 Seymour Highway Daily through October 31st; 9AM – 5:30PM Smith’s Gardentown has a huge selection of pumpkins and fun activities every year, and this year they’ve added even more. Admission is free every day for the pumpkin patch, Red Queen’s Hay Maze, the giant Cheshire Cat, slides, and Cinderella carriage rides. Wuthrich Pony Rides & Petting Zoo will be at Smith’s Saturday and Sunday with a petting zoo, pony rides, bounce houses, barrel train rides, pumpkin craft painting, and face painting – all for just $10. Or you can do just the face painting for $3-5 and pony rides for $5. Owl-O-Ween Jellystone Camp-Resort 14145 US Hwy 287N Oct 27- 28; 6PM – 10PM Wichita Falls Jellystone and Wild Bird Rescue have partnered for a Halloween Scare you won’t soon forget! Get your Z tag and start the Zombie Crawl. Beware of Zombies and watch for healing stations along the 1-mile route. All ages can participate. All Zombies will then get on the Haunted hay wagon and wind through undeveloped haunted ranchlands. Arrive at Jellystone Carnival where you meet the Owls of Owl-O-Ween! Play carnival games and visit the pumpkin patch for a photo before you are escorted through the dungeon of darkness by the dungeon caretaker- IF you dare! Learn about the inhabitants of the dungeon as you weave your way through a dark and creepy maze. Relax at the large group campfire and roast marshmallows or stay for a scary outdoor movie. The popular Magic Hayride to plant pumpkin seeds will be back this year on Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon the magic hayride will return to harvest the magic pumpkins. Kids return to hall to decorate pumpkins and enter the contest for best-decorated pumpkin. Dig through the corn seed bin for Surprises. Take pictures with the giant pumpkin and skull props! (not recommended for children under 6) $7 at the door; $5 in advance; $4 BGC members with cards Haunted Hay Ride Bowman Community Volunteer Fire Department 15974 FM 1954 Oct 26- 30; 8PM – Midnight Join the volunteer fire department for a haunted hayride! Cost is $10 per person and includes a hamburger, chips, and drink! They will have a Kid’s Zone featuring a bouncy house, bonfire, and other goodies. Think the ride will be too freaky? Drop the kiddos off in the Kid’s Zone and see for yourself. Kid’s Zone is by donation! While this is a fundraiser for the VFD they couldn’t do it without the cooperation of the Archer City and Holliday Marching Bands! Part of the proceeds will go to each school’s end of year trip! Wicked Andy’s Insane Acres 587 Coastal St., Charlie, TX 76305 Oct 27- 28; 8PM – Midnight See if you are brave enough for The Insane Acres featuring Dr. Price Karter aka (Dr. Morpheus) who was a renowned scientist that was incarcerated for his gruesome experiments on humans creating human and animal hybrids. Released in 2013 and now with his cannibalistic family, he is rumored to reside in Charlie, Texas. Numerous reports of missing persons all over the countryside have been reported as well as strange noises and severed limbs recovered throughout the area. Could this be the work of Dr. Price and the Karter family? $18.00 per person. Burger, chips, and drink provided! Nightmare on 10th Street Kappa Sigma Fraternity 2400 10th Street Oct 27- 28; 8PM – Midnight The MSU chapter of the Kappa Sigma fraternity is putting on the inaugural Nightmare on 10th Street haunted house, benefiting the Wichita Falls Food Bank. $8 at the door $5 with 2-3 canned goods Thursday, October 26th Trunk or Treat Brookdale at Sikes Lake 2649 Plaza Parkway 5PM – 7PM Bring your little ghosts and goblins to enjoy trunk or treat, a bounce house and a hayride. Live entertainment provided by local country musician, Braden Southard. Kid’s Caramel Apple Dipping and Decorating Frank & Joe’s Coffee House 2919 Bob Ave 7PM – 9PM Join Frank and Joe’s for a fun kids Halloween event making caramel apples with Sweet 1020, a local dessert bar! The kids will dip their own tart, green apples in caramel and milk chocolate and then drizzle on more white or milk chocolate. There will be spots set up for them to then decorate their apple with festive sprinkles, chocolate chips, Oreos, M&M’s and Butterfinger! Tickets are $6 which includes one apple. Kids will have the opportunity to gather candy from local businesses and sponsors. This marks the 21st year this fun event has taken place in the Wichita Falls community. Guests can enter through the SKATE ENTRANCE near the outdoor water fountain. Trunk or Treat Trinity United Methodist Church 5800 Southwest Parkway 5:30PM – 7PM Join us for this FREE and FUN event at Trinity United Methodist Church…a safe event for the whole family! Enjoy games, food and of course, candy! Tuesday, October 31st Downtown Trick or Treat Downtown Wichita Falls 4PM – 7PM Start at Connect Packing and Shipping, 717 Ohio Ave, for a “passport” and map of all the businesses open for Trick or Treating. Get your “passport” stamped at 8 different participating locations and receive a free small gelato at Odd Duck Coffee and a free kids’ meal at Highlander Public House. Parents, get your map stamped at 15 locations and be entered into drawings for prizes from multiple businesses. Visit Odd Duck Coffee for Face Painting from 4-7PM and a Family Friendly Costume Contest at 5PM. Enjoy tunes provided by Darion Ryan Roberts from 5-7PM. Area 51 Haunted House Wehrlybird Productions 1415 34th Street 5PM – 10PM This will be the 7th year putting on the small home haunt, and unfortunately will be the last, for a while. The haunt will be free to the general public; however, they are asking for you to bring a monetary donation for suicide awareness. This year’s theme will be “Area 51.” The story goes like this: Area 51 opens their doors for a once in a lifetime public tour, however, the tour suddenly goes awry as the aliens escape and start to attack the staff.
