The Wichita Falls Convention & Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce our new Wichita Falls Insiders!

Our Wichita Falls Insiders are a group of carefully selected individuals who are tasked with helping spread the word about Wichita Falls!

In the upcoming weeks, visitors to the Wichita Falls CVB’s website, will have the opportunity to ask questions and have an answer from one of our new Insiders!

So, let’s meet the gang!

 Julie Coley

Julie is well known in Wichita Falls as she has authored 5 books, and is currently working on a new picture book about Wichita Falls. She wears many hats, from being a part-time merchandising representative, pulling court cases for a news magazine, running an online store, and even making specialized planters for children’s rooms! When those aren’t keeping her busy she volunteers for the Wichita County Sherriff’s Office Citizen’s Academy Alumni Association and the Wichita Falls Fire & Police Museum! She and her husband, Jeff, have one daughter,  a son-in-law, and a 5-year-old grandson who keep her on her toes! But as she says, ‘I am pretty booked up, there is very little time to do anything else but eat and sleep, but we wouldn’t change it for anything!”

David Cook

David Cook is a life-long North Texan, other than a brief stint in Lubbock, Texas to attend Texas Tech University (RAIDER POWER!!!), David moved to Wichita Falls in the summer of 2002.  During his time here, David has been very active in his church and community.  He has coached YMCA youth baseball, a veteran of many city softball leagues, member of the Wichita Falls Optimist Club, Leadership Wichita Falls Class of 2014, served on the boards of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Wichita Falls and Heart For Uganda (a newly founded non-profit focused on providing educational and vocational support to the people of Uganda), and volunteered with Habitat For Humanity, Fowler Elementary, Adopt A Highway, and Downtown Wichita Falls Development.  David is married to his high school sweetheart and has two amazing children.

Courtney Copeland

A Wichita Falls, Texas native of 33 years, she is married to Jimmy Copeland.  The mother of two children, a 12 year-old-daughter and  a 4-year-old son, she stays busy rushing them around to various activities throughout the city!  Courtney’s family is very active at Colonial Church, where she is also employed as Colonial’s curriculum coordinator.  Courtney also is incredibly involved in helping the community, and is completing her provisional year in Junior League of Wichita Falls.  Mainly though she is excited to be selected as on of our new Wichita Falls Insiders, and can’t wait for you to “Check back in with us soon and see what we have going on next!”!

 Michelle Pauly

Michelle hails from Cambridge, England (Yes..ENGLAND!). She has 2 little boys who are extremely active and enjoy getting into everything, which led her to create a special website Wichita Falls With Kids! In her spare time she enjoys cooking, upcycling furniture and random finds. The one thing that has impressed her about Wichita Falls is the people and how friendly everyone is!  She may also love the BBQ restaurants, and could probably eat Texas BBQ every single day!

Matt Shirey

Matt is web developer for Midwestern State University and QWERTYtech.  He spends most of his time in front of a computer, tablet, or phone.  When he is not creating websites, he relaxes by watching TV, hanging out with family, traveling, and going to Dallas Stars hockey games.  A native of Wichita Falls, he admits he has been tempted a few times to move but something about this Wichita Falls keeps Matt here. The biggest reason he loves living in Wichita Falls is that we have a diversity of things to do for a city our size and he likes the feel of “everyone knows everyone”.

Jeanette Vandonge

Growing up in Colorado gave Jeanette a love for the outdoors and traveling. She met her high school sweetheart, Jake, at Burkburnett High School. And they love to travel together, and collect sand from each beach they visit. She and Jake are also photographers/ videographers, so they spend a lot of time on personal projects like filming acoustic musicians (Tryst Collection) or eating at local restaurants and blogging about it (Eat Local Texoma). Through their personal projects it has helped them realize how much talent we have in Wichita Falls. We have so many great musicians, painters, chefs, and people willing to join committees to better the city. Being apart of the Wichita Falls Zombie Crawl and 5K committee is one of her favorite roles, and Jeanette really loves being involved with downtown events as much as possible. But the WFZC&5K is definitely her favorite because it is such a unique event and inspires so much creativity out of everyone who participates!
