The MSU-Burns Fantasy of Lights is one of the largest holiday displays of its kind.  Its purpose is to provide a festive atmosphere on the Midwestern State University campus, to serve as an outreach to the community, and to be a focal point for holiday activities in North Texas.  The MSU-Burns Fantasy of Lights is filled with individual displays that showcase themes or characters from well-known children’s stories, fairy tales, and holiday icons.
The season will kick off with an opening ceremony on 11/20/2017 at 5:30 pm and conclude on 12/25/2017, MSU carillonneur Jim Quashnock will begin the festivities at 5:30 p.m. with holiday music on the Redwine Carillon. President Suzanne Shipley will flip the master switch at 6 p.m. and introduce a very special guest from the North Pole. A performance by the Ben Franklin Elementary Choir at 6:30 p.m. and the MSU Wind Ensemble at 7 p.m. in Akin Auditorium will round out the night. Food trucks will also be on site. The hours of operation are from dusk to 10 pm 7 days a week.
