MSU Theatre presents Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis’ Urinetown at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday in the Fain Fine Arts Center Theatre. In this musical satire, a water shortage caused by a 20-year drought has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. A hero decides that he’s had enough and plans a revolution to lead the masses to freedom. After Friday night’s performance, the audience is invited to stay for a talkback session with cast and crew about any aspect of the production.
General admission tickets are $10. Price is $8 for pre-college students, senior citizens, and military. MSU students, faculty, and staff will be admitted free.
